Therefore, married women should observe this fast to protect their husbands and end the fast.


(4) Worship method of Karva Chauth:

  • Collect the complete worship material required for Karva Chauth.
  • After taking bath in the morning on the day of the fast, start the fast of Karva Chauth by saying this resolution, ‘Mum, happiness, good fortune, son-grandson, Susthira Shri Pratye kar Chaturthi Vratmahan Karishye.’
    *Nirjala fasting for the whole day.
  • Make a panel out of ocher on the wall and paint it with a solution of ground rice. The art of painting is called Karva Dharana.
  • Make eight puris in it, make pudding, cooked dishes.
  • Make Gauri out of yellow clay and make Ganesha sit on her lap.
  • Dress Gauri ji in chunari and adorn her.
  • Keep a pot full of water.
  • Fill the sawdust, hut, toy etc. in the Karva pot.
  • Make a swastika on the lota by getting it done from roli
  • Worship Gauri Ganesh and pray for husband’s long life.
  • Read the story of Chauth Mata with grains of rice in hand.
  • After listening to the story, rotate the Karve and get it done by touching the feet of mother-in-law and give it to them.
    After the moon comes out in the night, look at the moon through a sieve and offer Arghya.
  • After this, take blessings from the husband, feed him and eat food himself.

Although many temples of Chauth Mata ji are located in India, but the oldest and most famous temple is located in the village of Chauth Ka Barwada of Sawai Madhopur in the state of Rajasthan. The name of this village was named Barwara after the name of Chauth Mata. Chauth Mata Temple was established by Maharaja Bhim Singh Chauhan.
